چکیده

The ST-segment and adjacent T-wave (ST-T wave) amplitudes of the electrocardiogram are quantitative characteristics of cardiac repolarization. Repolarization abnormalities have been linked to ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. We performed the first genome-wide association meta-analysis of ST-T-wave amplitudes in up to 37 977 individuals identifying 71 robust genotype-phenotype associations clustered within 28 independent loci. Fifty-four genes were prioritized as candidates underlying the phenotypes, including genes with established roles in the cardiac repolarization phase (SCN5A/SCN10A, KCND3, KCNB1, NOS1AP and HEY2) and others with as yet undefined cardiac function. These associations may provide insights in the spatiotemporal contribution of genetic variation influencing cardiac repolarization and provide novel leads for future functional follow-up.

Comparison of the Effect of Continuous and Interval Aerobic Training on Electrocardiogram of Active Young Girls

Aims Few studies have examined the effects of various models of aerobic training on electrocardiogram (ECG). The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of continuous and interval aerobic training on ECG of active young girls.  Methods & Materials The research method was quasi-experimental and 30 active young girls were selected from among physical education students (age=17.0±0.4 yr) ...

Evaluation of Electrocardiogram Changes in Patients with Slow Coronary Flow

Background: Slow coronary flow (SCF) is defined as a condition in which in spite of no evidence of coronary occlusion or stenosis in angiography, there is delayed pacification of the vessels after the injection of a contrast agent. There are several studies about electrocardiogram (ECG) changes in these patients, but changes like OLD MI, RBBB, LBBB, LVH and ST-T wave have not b...

Effects of tramadol on electrocardiogram, mean electrical axis and respiration in Kagani goats (Capra hircus)

The effects of tramadol on electrocardiogram (ECG), mean electrical axis and respiratory rates were studied in adult kagani goats after intramuscular administration of tramadol at 1 mg/kg b.wt. as a prelude to its clinical use as an analgesic in veterinary practice. The ECG was monitored by standard bipolar leads and discernible electrocardiographic features were observed in lead II. The normal...

T-wave inversion in the aVL lead is associated with severity of stenosis in the LAD artery

Background & Aims: The clinical value of T wave inversion (TWI) in the lead aVL in diagnosing coronary artery disease (CAD) remains unclear. Hence, we aim to evaluate the association between TWI in the aVL lead and the severity and location of coronary artery stenosis in elective coronary angiography. Material and Method: Electrocardiograms (ECGs) of 167 consecutive patients undergoing electiv...

Comparative study of electrocardiogram changes in patients with brain tumors with midline shift and without midline shift

Background: In addition to heart disease, ECG also changes in non-heart disease, which due to its similarity, can lead to misdiagnosis of heart disease in patients. ECG changes in brain lesions such as ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain traumas, etc. and have been studied in many articles, but the effects of brain midline shift on ECG changes have not been studied. In this study, we want t...
